Experimenting with a bowl of applesauce. He chucked the spoon and dove in face first. |
He's one!! |
Celebrating on his actual birthday with a crummy grocery store cake. |
He was into it though. Because sugar. |
Luc's Aunt Aubree and Uncle Sean sent these lights for Luc's birthday. He loves them so much. |
Getting pizza with his parents. He and Tom practiced coloring on the kid menu. Luc was very. very focused. |
Luc's birthday party! This completely unstaged photo (ahem) shows how much fun it was. |
My grandparents traveled up from Provo! |
Opening presents. |
The amazing cake that Luc's Aunt Emily made for him. |
Playing with his new toys surrounded by cousins. This is the toy piano Tom and I got for him. |
Look! We are parents to a toddler! |
More playtime with new toys. |
The happiest birthday boy. |
Lights! |
Luc's birthday party was "light" themed. Our guests all brought lights as party decorations. Glow sticks, a light saber, string lights, lamps, an LED balloon... It was wonderful. |
We also took Luc to the local aquarium as a birthday outing. |
Checking out the manta rays/eating my fingers. |
And now for a bit of a walk down memory lane. Newborn Luc.

- I taught Luc to hold up one finger when asked how old he is. He puts his finger up and shouts "ha!"
- Lucas has started crying when Tom leaves for work in the morning. He also started calling Tom "mama." I will tell him to go find his papa and he says "mama!" and goes running for Tom.
- LUC SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH NO FEEDS. Tom and I woke up this morning at 8:30. The sun was shining, birds were chirping. And for the first time in Luc's entire life... he didn't wake up during the night. Tom was late for work (because Luc has been our alarm clock for the past year) but I say it is worth it.
