San Diego

I'm skipping over the wedding (for now) and posting about the honeymoon. I want to wait until I have all the wedding photos before I write that one. So... San Diego!

During our engagement  I was pretty consumed with flowers, dress fittings, and suddenly coming up with an opinion on five thousand things I never realized I should have an opinion on before. (French bustle or American? Pintucked linens or smooth? etc etc). Tom's primary areas of responsibility ended up being the invitations, the cake design, and of course--honeymoon planning. As with all things wedding related, each of these things ended up being way more complicated than anticipated. With a limited budget, limited time, and a very delicate fiancee to accomodate (long story... sorry honey), Tom's honeymoon planning took a lot of effort to pull together. But in the end he planned the perfect trip.

The night of the wedding, Tom and I stayed in a hotel in Park City that was just perfect. The next day we headed for the airport to get on a plane that would take us from SLC to PHX so we could catch our connecting flight to San Diego.

Our hotel was so pretty. Right near the water with a great view of the city and the bay. And it was super close to everything--the ballpark, the Gaslamp Quarter, and lots of great tourist attractions.

We went on a culinary walking tour our first full day there. Maybe my favorite thing on the trip. It went a little something like this:
Walk to a restaurant.
Present your punchcard.

Chow down.

Repeat. Like, 20 times. Heaven.

Love birds
The rest of these pictures are a quick rundown of the rest of our trip:

We came across a place named "Bub's" and I had to take a picture for my brother David ("Bub").

Walks along the waterfront.

With some pitstops for cold lemonade of course.

A visit to an aircraft carrier turned museum.
Stuck in the brig. But not a cylon, I promise.

Kid in a candy store.

Fancy dinner out. Yes, I ordered steak at a seafood restaurant. But it was the best steak of my life, so no regrets.
Most amazing breakfast spread at the hotel. Holy. Cow.

It was hot. Also, lookit my handsome man.

View toward the city from our hotel room.

This dude and his shark. He was conflicted about eating one of his favorite animals. But not TOO conflicted.

Farewell honeymoon!
So there it is about five months later... Our honeymoon. Seriously blissful. Thank you for such an amazing trip, honey. And happy five months and two days of marriage!
