Week 2 - 2018

We play on the floor all day every day. He likes it best when I'm on his level because it's all the easier to pounce on me.
A rare snuggle. He's usually just a blur of activity.

This week I took Luc in to the doctor after he'd been pulling at his ears for a while and refusing to sleep. The doctor confirmed that he is perfectly healthy--just teething miserably. We also found out he is 22 lb 10 oz. It blows my mind how much he has grown since his birth.

Eva's bakery with Nana. (Signing "light" at every lightbulb he sees.)

Rose lemonade and a demi baguette with salted butter. This and my mom helped perk me up midweek.

Lucas struggling to get the last of the four teeth through. Four teeth at once is no joke.

Lucas finally popped his fourth top tooth through toward the end of the week bringing the grand total to six! Six teeth, ah ha ha! Sorry. We've been watching a lot of Sesame Street around here. And just like that, his sleep is improving dramatically. He is in the habit of waking up over and over now but is able to put himself back to sleep. Thank goodness because I don't know if Tom and I could have survived another week of Luc's all night cry fests. Lucas is also much happier now. He has been enjoying using his teeth to chomp through bananas, pasta, apples, and cheese. The boy loves cheese.

This week:
- Lucas changed things up. Instead of constantly taking a knee, he's figured out how to sit cross legged.
- He has been working on his "fish face" which usually turns into demanding kisses.
- Luc likes to sit and flip the pages of he books. He uses his index finger to point everything out on each page (copying the way I read to him).
- He has also started laying on his belly to shimmy under the couch, play with toys, and just goof around.
- He learned the word "Wow!". He likes to really draw it out. Wooooowwww.
- Lucas has been bringing toys to people and shoving them in their face. He does not want you to take the toy. And he only sometimes wants you to comment on or appreciate the toy. Most of the time he expects you to bite it. Because that's what you do with toys... duh. He was delighted when his godfather Russell came over and immediately understood the rules of this game. Good job, Russell.
