King of Destruction. You'd never be able to tell, but I regularly pick up my living room. |
 |
Speaking of destruction. Luc's room is usually kept really dark because he primarily uses it for sleeping. I turned on the lights to sort through his clothes this week (because he's outgrowing everything) and was greeted by this beautiful sight. I have no idea how much paint/woodchips/etc this little beaver ingested before I noticed. Sigh. Also, please note the deep gouges made by his two front teeth. I'm amazed he still has any teeth left. |
 |
My solution: felt. I draped some felt over the railing, cut slits up the fabric in between the slats, and tied them off. It's something, anyway. |

This picture is misleading. This week was a challenge. But it's cute and represents the occasional smiley moments we had. |

What's this, a pacifier? |
 |
No? Well it is now. |
We had a rough week. Things seem to have settled down now, but Lucas was grumpy, I was grumpy, and... well, yeah. Let's just move on.
In spite of it all, there were some nice moments.
This week:
- Lucas learned to clap. It's a very useful trick because I can use it to interrupt whatever behavior I don't like. Luc is getting into something? "Clap, clap, Luc!" And he will stop what he is doing to give me a cheeseball smile and clap his hands. Crawling toward peril and injury? "Clap, clap." And he will drop to his belly and clap intensely. Excellent.
- Luc is figuring out more and more sounds. In addition to the french R/purr he figured out a while back, this week he has started clicking his tongue and working on P, B, M, N, and W noises. He is getting better and better at mimicking and definitely wants to talk.
