Week 6 - 2018

Checking himself out in the mirror.
Clearly excited about life. He stole my stuffed animal (a Valentine's gift from a few years ago) and carried it around all day.

My boy. He just wanted snuggles at all times this week.

Luc's first experience at a public play area.

I tried not to get other kids in my photos out of respect for others' privacy. However, this kid was all up in everyone else's business. He just wanted to be friends with everybody. Unfortunately, some of the other kids looked a little panicked that this baby wouldn't leave them alone. Ah well.

Lucas is understanding more and more. When Elmo came on TV, he hurried to his toy basket to find his Elmo doll. He has started to follow along a little with Sesame Street. He claps and jumps when they tell the kids to follow along.

Tom installed a light for me in my "command station" area of the kitchen. I have my laptop, white board, mail sorter, and music here. I try to get meal planning, blogging, and general house running stuff done here. The light makes everything way, way easier. It's still a bit of a messy area, but it's on its way.

More snuggles. He usually wants to just lay next to me for an hour in the morning. I don't mind the slower start to our days.

Playing with colorful tulle.

We spent Saturday visiting family. We celebrated Emily's birthday (hooray!) and then these babies got to play together. Well... play may not be the right word. It was mostly grabbing toys and pacifiers from each other. (With Luc doing more than his share of the grabbing... Sorry Clark.)

This week:
- Lucas has started understanding more and more speech. He understands the difference between, "Give the puppy kisses!" and "Give momma a kiss." He can follow some simple directions (when he feels like it) like bring momma a book, come here, sit down. He also definitely knows what the word "no" means but completely ignores me when I say it.
- I started volunteering at the library. It was nice to get out of the house and go to a quiet, happy place.
- Luc is learning to blow kisses.
- I let Luc walk next to me for a little while at the grocery store. It was exciting that he could do it but ended quickly. He's too little to have any impulse control, so the shelves were just too tempting.
- Luc's godparents came over to see us. He loves his Lu and his Russell. He was very excited to hang out with them.
