Week 29 - 2018

They are now BFFs. The get along shockingly well. He is incredibly gentle with her. And she is confusingly patient with him. Luc is constantly asking to hold "' Too!"

Post-pool relaxation. I finished drying myself off and turned around to see this. He made himself quite comfortable.

Visiting the ducks (kuhs) at the park. Luc helped me feed them some oats and a grand time was had by all. (The heat stroke we suffered was a little less fun. It was 97 degrees this day and muggy. Ugh.)

I was doing dishes and turned around to see Lucas sweeping the kitchen. I could get used to this.

This week:
- I tried to get us outside more this week. It's been hard because it is SO HOT. But we managed to go to the park a couple of times and to the pool. We also spent lots of time outside our house but in cool buildings (the mall, aquarium, and gym).
- Luc and Artoo have been doing some serious bonding this week. They are so sweet with each other. Luc loves all animals and is thrilled to have a little buddy to hold (while under close supervision).
- Luc gets better at communicating every day. He has learned some very useful words. He now asks for "wawa" when he is thirsty (which is often, given how hot it is). He also asks for help more consistently when he is struggling. That has helped cut down on tantrums (though they are still plentiful).
- Luc has been super affectionate and likes to go around the room giving hugs and kisses to anyone present. When they aren't enough people who also distributes these to inanimate objects - stuffed animals, blocks, stacking rings...
- Mornings are extra heartbreaking these days. He spends most of the morning asking for his papa. When I say he has gone to work, Luc runs for the backdoor. He knocks on the door and calls for Tom over and over until I can distract him with something else. It's very sweet and also very sad.
- In other sad news - Luc is still struggling to get those new teeth through. He is miserable and extra tantrum prone due to the pain. I can also feel three more molars beginning to come in. So I think we're in for a rough few weeks.
