Weel 28 - 2018

Luc stole my friend's shoes and was very, very pleased with himself.

Block towers with papa.

Tiny gymnast.

He loves his bird sister. He was very excited and very sweet when he got to "hold" her.

Playing his first video game. I let him play Mario Kart on the Wii. He had no idea what he was doing but was pumped to be in control.

Summer in a nutshell.
This week:
- Luc got to "hold" Artoo for the first time. His arms were both very carefully controlled because we weren't sure how we would react. He absolutely loved her. And our misanthropic bird actually seemed okay with him.
- Luc continues to amaze us with his language. He learns so many new words every day that when Tom gets home in the evening I have to give him a rundown of all the new vocabulary. His words are still a little difficult to decipher so this is necessary. Case in point: Luc pointed desperately at the TV and demanded a "she-uh". Tom correctly assumed this meant he wanted to watch TV but I had to explain later on that he was trying to say "show."
- Gym daycare, I am please to report, has become a positive experience for Luc. He is perfectly content to be dropped off and has so much fun. It makes it much, much easier for me to go work out and get some alone time.
- It has been so miserably hot. As a result, we have been very cooped up in the house. It's hard to find activities for a 1 year old besides the splash pad when it is like the surface of the sun outside. Suggestions are welcome.
- Lucas is currently working on a canine and a molar. His behavior and sleep patterns have been... affected. Send help. We're all exhausted.
- Tom and I have been working on a lot of house projects lately. It's all minor stuff but is proving very difficult between the heat and the small gremlin that has taken up residence in our home (that would be teething Luc).
- A very dear friend from college came to visit me during his trip to Utah this last week. It was amazing catching up. Luc acted very shy at first but by the end of the visit had settled himself on James's lap with no intention of leaving.
