Reading books in the morning. |
Sitting at the table again for breakfast. |
Birthday breakfast for a birthday Tom. |
Harassing Artoo. |
Park! Pleased at his independence because he could climb the stairs and go down the slide all by himself. |
Off to do his weekly shopping. All the other shoppers' hearts exploded with cuteness. Until he got mad... then their eardrums exploded with his shrieks. |
Unloading a sleepy boy who passed out in the car. |
Bats! |
More bats! And hello! |
Luc trampling the laundry pile that I just couldn't face. |
Luc and Elliot. Luc calls him "Ee! ee!" |
Modeling his new hat. Also, he is clutching his polar bear and gorilla, this week's constant companions. |
Snow on the mountains and a very rainy morning. |
Pumpkin patch with his papa. |
A very good dad riding a very tiny train. |
"My owwwwn. My preciouuuusssss." Luc's very own pumpkin. |
Baby in a corn pit. I had to remind him to stop eating corn about 200 times. |
A Luc sized maze. |
Botanical garden. |
We let Luc lead the way in exploring the garden. |
This week:
- Luc's new words included: wait, walk, Bub (as in his Uncle Bub... though he has mis-applied this word to mean "adult male"), toys, and work (as in, why isn't this thing working?).
- We took down the main baby barricade in our living room! Suddenly we are living in a home instead of Alcatraz. It really changed the space.
- It really feels like Luc turned a corner in his development. He is suddenly walking, talking, and acting like a (very) little kid instead of a baby. He still has moments where I can see infant Luc peeking through, though, and I treasure them. Because most of the time he is just busy, busy, busy.
- When Luc does not want me to do something (change his diaper, put him in his car seat, make him clean up his toys) he starts crying and saying "waaaait, waaaaait". It's like he thinks that if only I would stop and really think about it, I wouldn't want to force him into whatever unpleasant task we are trying to accomplish.
